Got this today in trade for my ESP Eclipse.
Getting rid of that Zebra pup tomorrow and putting the stock one back in
JB SH4 in the bridge and this should make a very fun guitar to practice on.

Cool. Are you going to refinish it or leave it stripped? Did the previous owner strip the finish off the back of the neck too? It looks cool.

Really? That doesn't look like any natural top I've seen. It looks stripped to me. I guess it is just the pics. The finish just looks extremely worn off in the pics.

This is an example of a worn natural that I am used to. Although it is Natural, there is a finish. I guess the difference is the pic. BTW, this is just a random pic I found. You can even see where the finish is worn off a bit and it seems to match your guitar in that spot. That is why I thought it had been stripped. I apologize if I was wrong. I've seen stripped ones that looked like yours in person and really dug them...in fact that was sort of a big thing a long time ago. Either way, natural or stripped, it is cool as hell. Enjoy it.

I love the look with those 70's style witch hat knobs knobs on it ! Think that some great playing and sounding guitars were coming out of Gibson in this period, every guitar with the Gibson name was a top notch USA made guitar. There were no satin finishes series, budget built skimped on stuff like now where u have to go custom shop to get descent stuff.

it looks stripped to me too, Nonetheless that was a good trade ;)

That's sexy. What color are the backs & sides? Kinda has a Ronson/Billy Duffy thing goin' on.

Brad pmed me too, he says its stripped for sure. Its hard to believe because the binding around the body matches up pefectly and shows no sign of the top being stripped.
if it was stripped would it have been with a chemical of some sort or sand paer?
If you guys are correct i5 is kind of upsetting, but at the same time it is a lpc.
Would it be hard to put it back like the above finish you posted a pic of?

I'd just give it a light sanding and spray some nitro on it.

Yeah, don't think it is natural. Looks good regardless though. HNGD!

I just brought it into a local shop and the top has been stripped like you guys have stated.
I would like to ad some nitro to the top soon.

I wouldn't be upset at all. I would make sure it gets something thing on it like nitro, but if you have no experience (as I don't, ) make sure you bring it to someone. Looks cool as hell, but you want to make sure it is protected.

Here's a few more...it sounds AMAZING

Have the back and sides been stripped as well? The finish looks very flat in those pics (ie, no shiny lacquer)

I don't think the sides or back have been stripped...
I could be wrong again haha.
But I think the sides and back were this way from the factory.

Damn. Makes me miss my Black Beauty. Killer looking guitars.

I really miss the natural finish LP I had, they look so good. Congrats!

Looks cool, I'd leave it alone. Mick Ronson used to strip the tops of his LP Customs, as did Billy Duffy...supposedly has tonal benefits
