This guitar is insane!!! The neck is super comfortable... it's not your typical Ibanez wizard super thin neck. For his Prestige model, Andy said that he had Ibanez copy an old Strat(not Fender) neck that he had laying around because he loved how it felt. It's more soft C shaped with a slightly narrow nut. I'm ok with that!!! The neck is fast, but not shredder fast... just really comfortable. Since the neck isn't finished, it has that "old pair of jeans" feel to it.
As far as the pickups go... very nice and balanced. The neck and neck/middle positions are warm and articulate... slightly flatter than standard single coils, but not like a full humbucker(if that makes sense). The bridge pickup is awesome of course. It's Andy's signature Dimarzio which is one of my favorite bridge pickups. They all work really well together.
It's not the flashiest of guitars... but that's what I really like about it. After years of purple's, florescent yellow and pink and sparkle's, the sunburst is pretty refreshing. It's almost like the perfect mix of modern and vintage styling.
I have been pensive about Ibanez Premium models because I've owned two and returned them both. They looked cool, but felt cheap. This doesn't. The fretwork is outstanding and overall build quality is impressive. It can definitely hang with my Suhr. Is it on the same level? Nope, but then again, the Suhr is almost 2 times the price(if price is any kind of indicator of quality and construction).
Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. There is one slight issue that the dealer is looking into for me, but once it gets resolved, I'll be glad to share my experience there.
