The vids tune is pretty thin compared to the studio version, the original tone is just awesome old Marshalls.

yea killer track..always reminded me of Hanna by trower...had that tone to it. He was killer at BBs last year !

Haven't even watched it yet, but had to comment. Mr. Marino is my favorite pentatonic blazer. Especially when I think about the fact that he was doing it back in '77!!! :worship:

great stuff, I especially liked the Geico caveman playing bass on that track!

Kage is gonna kick your ass Scotty! ;)

Marino is da MAN!! Get the live album it smokes.

Poppy was ok, but this is what I liked about Frankie...

Dude, I listened to that stuff OVER AND OVER Every day back in about 1975 when I was 15.. It was so cool just clicking on that and watching it.. Gave me goosebumps head to toe!!!! I got to see him Live in concert in Montreal in the late 70's too , as he was 1 of my many guitar idols...

I'm so different than most of the guys on these forums... I grew up on all that Marino, Uli Roth , Hendrix, Travers, Hillage, Akkerman, Trower, Montrose, Bill Nelsen, Blackmore, etc, but don't listen to that stuff anymore, but am always glad to stumble on a post like this to bring back the great memories.. I just evolved with the times and listen to new music all the time. It's strange, when I read from guys who still listen to stuff that they listened to in the 70's.. To me that was some of the best music ever, especially for GUITAR, but man I wore out all my albums so badly .... I was a 15 year old with stereo headphones listening to "Talking about a Feeling" by Mahogany Rush .. That album was unbelievably trippy thru great headphones!!! Anyway , thanks for the trip down memory lane , and probably I should start listening to more of my 'past' again sometime :)

p.s. just checked out some of the other 1975 Youtubes of M.R. i.e. New ROck and Roll, etc and wow got goosebumps from them all. Quite neat journey into my past

BTW - I have to give thumbs up to anyone mentioning Akkerman.

Dude I have loads of old Focus "ALBUMS" and "Jan Akkerman " solo stuff... (I just checked and the ones that are still in alphabetical order were 9 different albums) Put a lot of mileage on them too! If my album collection was in good shape I'd need to have a few Dobermans and a spare Rottweiller to protect it from guitarist's guitarists invasions, BUT unfortunately I did all my playing of albums back in the day on bad turntables and not always being in the 'optimum' state of mind for immaculate preservation of vinyls, so they're beat and scratched to crap. It sucks because I have some of the best "GUITAR" Music ever on about 700 albums.. I had a friend start converting a few for me 'erasing ' all the scratches and putting on cd and it seemed to work great, but I'll never have the time or motivation to continue that process.... I gave him my Syd Barret album and 1st and 2nd Blue Oyster Cult albums for practice and it worked perfectly so really I should get them converted to cd's.. .

I've also seen 'most' of my guitar idols in concert live but never fortunate enough to see Uli Roth , or Jan Akkerman.. Have seen most of my other 'idols' though live! Eric
