This dude is just dirty Texas blues with attitude and his Youtube vids are nuts, Dude knows how to bring out the best in whatever he plays.

Here is his demo of a Reeves Jimmy 50 watter,

I have seen several of these on the spam forum, ya'll are fucking nuts for selling this amp

Check out his Youtube channel................

Scott,
I had a Lance Keltner demo in the late 80's when he was playing melodic hard rock and his songwriting was KILLER. He had this song called "I'm Dangerous" that should have been all over MTV. He got a record deal a few years after that demo and he re-did the song with a little more of an earthy, early 90's vibe. The original was better in my opinion, but this sis still a really cool song. I'd love to get a copy of that old, hard rock demo.

I liked this one alot, now I want to hear the demo!

Great player and love his vids pimping Destroy all Guitars equipment.

Lance is awesome! Have you seen the Metro demo he does from inside an auto shop repair bay? Insane tone. Also have you seen his Retro Wreck demo? Little solid state amp that sounds magical!

he and PT are my faves for demoing gear--it'd be killer if they could do a channel for demoes together as co-hosts, but i'd like more downside POV sometimes instead of "best ever" hype.

I agree with the Hype part of most demos, I guess they are just trying to help out the best they can but in Lance's case his playing takes care of any words spoken.

Great player for sure. He's made pretty much everything he's played through sound good though.

Never heard that before...very cool. Almost sounds like something that could have been on Charlie Sexton's second album.
Lance simply has a great touch and phrasing that makes almost anything he plays through sound good.

You are right Rupe, I thought of Sexton as well while listening to that track.

I remember a New Year's show on MTV where Sexton played a set, he had some bradshaw type board that I swear you could land a small plane on it was so big

I love the "zing" in that guitar tone. It sizzles. Imagine using this amp for a high gain metal sound!
That sizzle & aggressive edge, and the way the zing "rolls" is something I find rather lacking in a lot of modern metal tones. It is why I cannot get into a lot of modern metal music, because they don't have that edge. Instead there's this overwhelming bass and a "clean" midrange, and that horrid "burp" sound. I honestly find this Reeves amp tone more "brutal" than a lot of modern metal tones referred to as "brutal"!

Thank you!!! I was wracking my brain trying to figure out where I knew his name from...

As far as the Reeves goes, it does sound good but for me, its too much of a one trick pony...

Hey guys,

I got one of those lovely google alerts about this post and joined Rig Talk to mill around.

Actually funny story. I tried to sign up yesterday but was half asleep and checked the box that required my parents to sign a document saying that it was ok for me to post here.
Since I am actually 48, both my parents have passed, and I couldn't get an email back from the admin I just signed up under the same user name that I have used for years at the gearpage.

Thanks so much for the kind words and I am going to go see what I can see on here. I have heard great things about this board and am looking forward to participating.

All the best

Lance

PS
The original 80's version of I'm Dangerous is much better than that limp record version.
They signed me to Atco/East West as a rock band and by the time they got me into the studio with a producer they had decided to try to make me into John Cougar or something... didn't work out for me or for them.
Not uncommon in the music biz.
