I have to say that my buddy set this up perfectly! Tap harmonics sound great on this thing. I have an EVH Frankenstein pickup in it...that's my fav pickup...have it in almost all of my guitars...
 
that thing is sweet.. I LOVE that EVH pickup.. people give him a lot of shit but his stuff is top notch...

I know what you mean! I had that ad on my wall when I was a kid...and the poster in my basement now...lol

He's having the body custom made because the horns are larger than any production Kramer...and it's all about getting that body shape right...

I'll post pics when it's done...maybe some progress pics if he sends me any...

I've played a lot of nice guitars in the past, not custom guitars, but factory guitars from the US/ Japan especially and I can say that the EVH brand of Peavey or MM are some of the best. The pickups and the guitars play great and I can see how he can use those things to make his guitars better! Killer stuff..

I've not tried the EVH pickup, but you guys are making me want one! Stop it.. LOL..

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of guitars do you have it in and what makes it so great or cool? I play a lot of 80's type stuff myself and 70's classic music such as John Sykes style / Thin Lizzy, etc,. and I'm wanting a really cool custom pickup for a couple guitars.. I've thought about the EVH pickup, but don't have any experience with it, but I always loved the Peavey Wolfgang pup in that particular guitar at least.
What kind of output does it have and gain structure and eq, etc,?

I play a lot of 80's type stuff myself and 70's classic music such as John Sykes style / Thin Lizzy, etc,. and I'm wanting a really cool custom pickup for a couple guitars.. I have it in 4 superstrats. I used to play higher output pickups, like Suhr SSH+,...this pickup is still of a higher output but LOW enough to get you that great brown sound...it's perfect for the 80s stuff you mentioned. I play in a VH cover band, and every show I have some people commenting on the tone and asking what pickups are in the guitars. I can't really comment that well on the eq...but the gain structure is perfect for VH/Dokken/Ozzy...etc. It's the best pickup I've come across...I owned a few guiatrs with the Wolfgang pickups and like this EVH Frankenstein a LOT better...
