I am looking at picking up a used 412 for when I need more than my 112 combo. I have found a legacy 412 cab locally with UK V30s. It will run me $400, plus it is a 2 hr drive each way. Those seem to be pretty good cabs from what I have heard, but how do they compare to some of the higher end cabs??

Used gear seems to sell for stupid prices where I live. There is a used mesa recto cab for $800

I have never had v30s in a front loaded cab I am wondering if they will be too bright. i could always trade two of them for T75s, or K100s...

Bump for the afternoon crowd. If I can make the numbers work I will be picking this up really soon.

The cabs are fine, i've got a stack of the cheaper Carvins.

Plus i prefer front loaded cabs.

I am going to pict this cab up, and I am goign to try two T75, and two V30s in there!!!

I am also ordering a PRS SE212 cab the price is great on those!!!

legacy cabs are awesome! I would take one over a mesa anyday, but they are heavy as fuck

I only heard it paired with a Legacy head, but it sounds great!
That new guy gold tele has lots of gear & he chooses Legacy for the road

I would go for it. I love mine. They are very sturdy and sound great. I am not a huge V30 fan but they are right for the Legacy head. I do have a Legacy 2x12 with a Scumback H75/M75 mix. It sounds awesome!!!!

I had a front loaded cab with V30s and T75's in an x pattern. I really liked it, especially for more Marshall flavored sounds.

I picked it up last night, it sounds great, but when I got home from picking it up I found a Port city 212 for sale locally at a great price, so I picked that up since a great 212 should work better for me. I might be selling this unloaded since I need speakers for my port city.

The Legacy sure looks well built, and clean inside. I am actually tempted to put it in the basement for if I get in a band again I can leave it at the jam space, and just move the head. I just have to decide if the 212 is going to be enough. I have been going through gear like there is no tomorrow this month.

Never tried one, but before Avatar speakers was around, the Carvin Legacy cabs were routinely recommended for a good inexpensive 212 or 412 cab.

A bandmate of mine had the 4x12 back when they first came out (they came with greenbacks at that time)...it was a great sounding cab.

of all the vin30 loaded cabs, my Legacy 4x12 just sounded better in any room. something about it, it just seems to make my amps sound a little better than my Mesa recto cabs or my Crate Blue Voodoo cabs (all loaded with vin30's)

I have been using one for about six years and it is rock solid and sounds great. Highly recommended.

Mesa uses a different version of the v30 in their cabs that is typically a bit darker than your standard v30 like in the Legacy cabs. Celestion makes them for a few other brands too and Crate may be one of them.
