Better than a Boss NS-2...?

Worth the value?

They create more noise than they are supposed to overcome. Threw mine in the garbage.

I use an MXR Smart Gate pedal, if needed.

I HIGHLY recommend the Decimator pedal. Just turn the one knob until the buzz/fuzz is gone and that's it. Doesn't suck any tone. Simple, effective, can't ask for anything more

And if you want a rack unit....Decimator ProRackG :D

I used a Hush IICX live for years and it worked great...I didn't experience any added noise

noise reduction units are a band-aid fix that inevitably suck tone.

figure out from where the noise is coming.

Me too. Still have mine and it works great. Just have to know how to set it and realize its not a gate.

I have a Hush SuperC that I strictly use for the gate, no noise redux, just taper off to silence when not playing - works like a champ for that (for many years now).

Me too. Today I had time to play my amp with my Hush super C today really loud, and I have mine running out front, and it didnt color my tone, and worked great keeping the guitar quiet when not playing it and the volume on my guitar all the way up.

Definitely look into the Decimator stuff..
But, if you can find one, the best unit Rocktron ever made was the Guitar Silencer.
I still have it and it does not add any noise or color the tone.
They do make some real crappy "hush" systems.
Cheap, gated noise reduction, the Hush Super C works well.
