Trying to put a new rig together. I'm using a Digi 1101 and G2 controler. It has a five pin midi out but the 5150 has a 7 pin in.

Is it possible to switch the amp with midi control ? :aww:

Thanks

Ok so how do I change channels with a middi rig ?

You need a RJM Mini Amp Gizmo and their special cable to go from the Amp Gizmo to the EVH to be able to switch channels. I use it with my G-System to switch channels on my EVH 100 watt. MIDI out of the G-System to MIDI in of the Mini Amp Gizmo. Then the special cable out from the Mini Amp Gizmo to the foot switch jack of the EVH. Works great.

I do the same except i use the RG-16. Only thing that sucks is the loop is always on. I`d like to have it switchable :aww:

where do you guys mount the amp Gizmo ? I notice they have two sizes and neither is rackable.

Get the mini amp gizmo, it's quite small. I have a small rack that houses my pedals with a GCX. I just used dual lock to mount it on top of the GCX.

You could also mount it with Dual Lock right on the rear metal grill.

This what I was thinking.

Why not just bypass the loop using the RG16?

The Gizmo can be half racked, or the mini gizmo mounted to the back grill. It has a mounting hole on each flange. You'll have to get a cable made to go from the din on the mini gizmo to the conn on the 5150iii. Ron makes those cables as well. Then you can midi program the channel changes with the rest of your rack effects.
Cheers,
Mike

I use the Mini Amp Gizmo as well. I've got it velcro-ed to the top of my amp. Works great, very small. Fits in the amp road case, so it never moves
