Hey there ,
Digging the clips of the Einstein .
one question I really love the Mega mode but would also love and need to use the clean on Ch1 .
To Einstein owners or Peter how close can you dial in channel 2 to match Mode 3 .
If I understand 2 has 4 gain stages . Mega 3 .
If I backed off the gain and turned up the mids can I make them very similar .
I guess the other Question too I have read about footswtich mod that will access the modes. Is this available through Diezel themselves??

Thanks !!!

You can't. Ch2 is thicker in the lower mids and a lot more compressed (I believe it also has an additional gain stage, but I might be wrong) What Ch2 does best is lead, you can't get that dry and tight Mega mode out of it.
Even with the gain pretty low (9-10 o'clock) you still get a lot of compression and thickness, you just lose a bit of edge. Wich btw sounds wonderful.

That essentially depends on what you are after, but practically live they are not that different.

The nice thing about ch 2 is that you can make it sound either very close to mode 3 of ch 1 or very different. It is a matter of using less gain in channel 2 and adapting the eq of this channel to your guitar.

Hey...

A while ago i used to compare both Mega Mode uand Ch2 with a friend. We dialed a lot Eq stuff, and at last we got a very similar voicing, we lower the Gain, altered the Mids, Bass (lower!) and added a bit more Treble and Presence for more "cutting" sound.

What we could not change was the main voicing of the Channel 2. All we play sounded less "inyourface". We changed Channels during playing, and your ears made the difference! The way the sound has attack and needs time to rise is a bit faster in Ch1 Mega mode.

For fast riffing and shredding stuff definitly Ch 1 Mega, but of course Ch2 will work! For earthshaking, deep and evil riffs you play while standing triangled with the guitar in front of your balls Ch2 will kill everything (Ch1 Mega will, too....of course)!

P.S. you can make your Ch1 switchable, but it´s not an official Diezel Mod. There is a commom used mode you can find here in the forum! (Excuse me Papa :scared: I won´t blame you, but this is so much useful...and of course not necessery, for you can nearly clean up the Amp with your Volumepoti  )

My Einstein combo in ch. one, mode 3, sounds like it has a bit more growl to it, a bit more mid-range centered then ch. two has. The power sounds about the same but ch. two seems to have a slightly wider mid sound, with a bit less accentuated centered mid tones.

Of course this could be the way it is set, but generally, I use about the same EQing for both channels. Channel two can have more saturation, but I don't hear it getting too compressed.

I have the gain on ch. two between 12-1 o'clock, depending on the venue. The saturation sounds very smooth and sweet and I can control feedback well with any ch. or master volume on the amp.

Of course many things can affect this, such as the type of guitar, string gauge, pickups, wall voltage at the venue, tubes, etc.
