I have heard the tri-axis can nail mark IV, III, and IIC+ tones. I have also heard that its not even close to a mesa mark sound.

If you try one out let us know what you think and which camp you are in....

I've personally never heard a Triaxis nail any of the Mark series tones. I've heard them get close but never dead on.

I should have mentioned that this is just what I have read in threads, I have not tried a Tri-axis. I do own a mark IV.

This thread is starting to show what I have seen in the past, some say you can get very close, others say they are far different.

The mark IV is already compressed, I can't imagine needing or wanting more compression....

I love the mark IV, but if I have a power amp/preamp setup already in my rack already I was thinking replacing the MIV with the Tri-Axis would lower the weight of the rack significantly. But then I rarely move the rack so I am probably just going to keep the IV in there for now.

Does the Tri-Axis sound good paired only with the 2:90? It seems most people lean towards the 2:90 when it comes to power amps for it, how does it sound paired with a VHT 2/50/2?

The thing is a MONSTER with the 2:90, I dont know about the VHT, didn't have the 2 at the same time....

But I would (if I could) get one, try it out, and if you dont like it, they're not that hard to move.
