How do I do this? (home recording questions, preamps etc...)

I wanted something to use as a preamp to go into my Two Notes Captor, rather than having to pull amps and heads down and connect them all up - plug and play for riffing up ideas and songwriting on my iMac with Logic X.
So I picked up an old ADA-MP1 for next to nothing.

I want to go:

Guitar > ADA MP-1 > Two Notes Captor > RME Babyface > iMac with Logic.

Q1) Do I need a power amp to go between the ADA MP-1 and the Captor? I want to use the guitar cab sim on the Captor, so can I go straight from the ADA MP-1 Line Out, or will I need the power amp / XLR in to use the cab sim, and so need a power amp? Something little like a pedal (EHX Magnum, Mooer whatever it is).

Q2) What's the signal chain to hook it up? I'm used to just going out of the speaker out of my heads into the Captor. Having never owned a single piece of rack gear until getting the ADA MP-1, there's Send, Return, Line Out, Out L and Out R etc... etc...

Cheers for any help!

The Captor is probably not the ideal tool for what you're trying to do.

My recommendation would be to use one of the MP-1 line outputs (usually L is meant for mono) directly into your Babyface line input, then use the Two Notes Wall of Sound plug-in to get the power amp and miked cab simulations.

I've heard good stuff about WoS.
I'll check it out.
I would prefer to avoid plug ins and use a real poweramp but, I'm open to it.

You might not need a power amp. The ADA and Captor cab sim may do the trick. The only way to know for sure is try it out and see how it sounds.

If you don't like the way that sounds and you don't want to use amp sim plugins, then I would go ADA > Mooer Radar or ADA > Torpdedo cab or ADA > real power amp.

Wall of Sound is the way to go here. Really no need for the captor. <$10 should get you a wall of sound cab to start with, and the trial has 2-3 i think.
