how do you setup your 2 channel DR?

I don't have mine anymore, but I wish I did. It'd sound massive with my 2204. Mine was a '94 with an adjustable bias mod. I ran the Orange channel dry for rhythm and the Red with the loop engaged with some delay for solos. I think I had the Orange cloned to Red, but I'm not sure. The Orange channel sounded more raw and was a little more articulate, if I remember correctly. I always used the silicone diodes. That amp loved a TS9 up front, and I didn't like the sound as much without it. FWIW, those 2 channel, small logo Rectifiers are the best of the lot.

i just traded mine recently for a jcm800, but i played my dual for a couple years and loved it..
i ran it mostly like a single chan, as i played metal at the time.(that and i hate switching)
the orange cloned to modern was a sick channel. i used a maxon in front as a boost, gain @ 1:00, bass @ 9:00, mids @ 3:00, treb @ 11- 1:00 depending on the room, pres @ 3:00-full. never used the loop, played it around 11:00 on the master i think. maybe more.. great amp.
i was a convert, i always thought they were a flubby new metal amp until i got it dialed how i liked it.

Orange-High gain normal-Vacum tubes-spongy
However it was modded,gain at noon/treble noon/bass noon/pres 8 o'clock/mid 8 o'clock
Depth mod at noon, and it runs hotter than stock, bias mod.6L6.,No boost and no FX.

I used to be all about using vintage high gain all the time, but the last few years I've been using modern more. The key for me is using a Recto 4x12. I've spent hours trying to dial the amp in with other cabs/speakers and generally hated the results, yet with a Recto cab it just all falls into place and sounds so good doing it.

Orange/Clean
V - 9:00, P - 11:00, B - 1:00, M - 8:00, T - 11:30, G - 10:00

Red/Modern
V - 10:00, P - 9:15, B - 1:00, M - 10:30, T - 1:00, G - 12:00

Bold/silicone/FX loop bypassed.

Mine is one of the older, brighter ones. On a later Recto I'd have to run the (Modern mode) bass down around 10:00 and the presence up around 1:00 to get the same sort of sound.

i run my tverb red channel on modern, silicon diodes, bold with the loop bypassed ... these settings as of now, prescence is at 9:00 its hard to see

I usually run the mids at 11, bass at 12, treble at 1, gain at 1

Loop engaged, silicon diodes, bold.

I also go straight in.

same here, but with a boss gate up front and a isp decimator in the loop. but mine is an FJA modded single. what i would give for a dual that sounded this sweet. will be waiting on mailman to sell me his when he gets sick of it.
