I have a new guitar :) I love it and I am surprised that the JB works well in this guitar (I have had troubles in the past with this pickup). Though, I want to take the wonderful advice of the wonderful Peter Diezel and try a medium/low output pickup in this guitar with my VH4 and I was thinking the "new" Seymour Duncan 59/Custom hybrid. I believe its output is around 10-11k and a lot of people love this pickup a lot. What do you guys think? Good match for this guitar (see specs below)? Think it will work out well for a heavier style of rock/almost metal?

Specs of guitar:
BODY: (Top) Ash, (Back) Mahogany NECK: Hard Maple 3P FINGERBOARD: Rosewood , 24frets INLAY: Dot, Cross at 12fret SCALE: 648mm (Long) NUT: Bone JOINT: Set-neck BRIDGE: Tune-matic / Tailpiece PICKUPS: (Front) Duncan SH-1n (Rear) Duncan SH-4 CONTROL: Master Volume , Master Tone Mini Toggle PU Selector

How dare I forget a picture :aww:

Just try it man. The worst thing that can happen is that you wont like it and you can sell it. Pickups can easily make or break a guitar, so I'd hold onto the JB no matter what you try because it works well in that guitar and you can always go back to it as a reference.

That is true. I just hope it works out well. Seymour Duncan builds great stuff :)

I can personally attest that the JB works fantastic with the VH-4...easily one of my favorite pickups... no offense to Papa himself but the JB really ISN'T a high output pickup... so I wouldn't just go replacing it if you already like the sound... at some point we have to stop tone chasing and just play... if you dig it, then just jam brother!

It is officially my favorite guitar and I went out on a limb buying it cause I wasn't able to try it before hand.
