How to convert a "passive" high impedance to low impedance..

I've been using EMG active pickups for many years, but I'm ready to try a passive now. I'd like to maintain the low impedance signal advantage with the passive if reasonably possible.

What would be the best way to do this?

I think adding an EMG PA-2 booster circuit to your guitar will convert it to low impedance, even if its turned down. The PA-2 is inexpensive.

Use a buffer

Give me a few examples please.

Axxess BS-2
MXR CAE MC-401
Fryette Valvulator

BTW, a normal Boss pedal, on bypass is a pretty decent buffer. I'm not joking.

Tone snobbery = if it changes the tone at all, it sucks.

Reality = all buffers will slightly change your tone, and they will change how everything else, post-buffer reacts.

I use the Boss PSM-5 power supply, master switch. MIJ, about $35.

What would be the advantage? What are you trying to achieve?

I'm just trying to figure out if this is something I need to try after years of using EMGs and now trying alot of different passive pups.

easiest way. w/o a pedal. adjust the pa 2 to unity w your p/u and your there. it has a mini trim pot for this.

He wants to achieve low impedance output to prevent signal loss from cable capacitance and long cable runs.
