I'd rather put a strap button on the center of the back and do a single point sling like I did on my ukulele.

I did so many outdoor gigs one summer it looked like someone rubbed an eraser on my left shoulder. It was painfully raw. I had more gigs to do so the solution was to start carrying it like a mail bag on my right shoulder. It took a few gigs to get the hang of it but I never went back. I don't knock my hat all sideways since I don't have to put my head through a loop anymore.
