It says I can run 1 side at a time in case I only want to play it as a 1 channel power amp. Do I still need a load hooked up to the 2nd side or does leaving it completely off negate having to have a speaker load on it?

Just leave the unused side off. No need for a load on the unused side.

Those dual monoblock amps are somewhat unique amongst rack tube power amps in that it’s literally two separate power amps in one box, with separate power transformers for each channel.

Most rack amps have a shared power transformer and just one power switch, then a standby for each channel (usually).

Just Curious which Pre-Amp are you using with it? I watched a Deftones thing last night on Youtube & wished i still had my old JMP-1.

I just plugged my Myasnikov Super Lead into it to check it out and make sure it worked. I just got the Marshall in a trade the other day and was checking it out.
