hey guys. i accomplished some 70´s celestion h 30´s and want to put them into my frontloaded diezel cab.

i removed all 4 screws of the speaker and tried to put the old speakers out. NOTHING. they sit so fucking tight its unbelievable. i also tilted the cab to the gorund but the speaker didnt move a bit. i dont want to scratch the wood .

did i miss something ?????

They're sealed to the front baffle of the cabinet - so this isn't a matter of unscrewing some screws and feeling the speakers loosen up. You'll need to get something underneath the speaker rim in between the rim and the front portion of the cabinet. Be very very careful, the cabinet's corners and milling are exceptionally sharp - not at all forgiving - you can slice through several fingers doing what you're doing, so be aware.

What were already in the cab?? As in speakers??

ive had g12k100. they didnt do it for me clean chrunched. i LOVE the old greenbacks. even for metal they sound so rich warm and brilliant.

thanks for the advice, are they sealed with a special material ????
so a razor blade would do it ?

Would the seal be a benefactor in the cab that would be lost with out reapplying it when fitting replacement speakers? or am i thinking a bit too fussy!

i have exactly the same thoughts. i have my doubts "cutting" the speakers out.... but seriously , screwing them presses them onto the cab heavy enough ?!?!?!

PETER ? any thoughts on this ??

i managed to removed them, they are not sealed all the way.

all i could find was some glue looking rests near the screw holes. thats all. no knife needed. just a little sensitiveness.

So... how does it feel and sound with the GH30's in a front loaded cab?
