How to use Gigrig G2 and Digitech Trio+ Band creator

Hi all. Digitech recommends running guitar effects through the Trio+ send/return loop. I'm not sure how I would use the Trio+, which I love, with the G2 without sacrificing the use of a volume pedal. Any suggestions are most appreciated!
