EP Booster helps this. It boosts cleans more than the dirt channel.
Use of a Multi FX processor can be used in the loop to Boost Clean Patches.
I ultimately went to a Diezel D-Moll but that's nothing against the EVH, I just like the D-Moll better for "My Sound"

I use a line 6 pod xt live to control the amp via midi as well as control the eq and volume to even out the sound. No volume change when changing channels

AxeFxII in da loop is how I got around it the short time I had the evh

I use a Musicom efx MKIII midi controller and looper. I use it to change the channel of the amp and to switch pedals simultaneously. I use a boost in the loop to increase volume when I switch to my clean channel.

I run the gain at noon at I have no volume difference. Great cleans and plenty of dirt

I currently use a line 6 m9 in the loop to change channels via midi. I have an eq cutting mids and boosting overall output on my clean channel. It works well but I'm considering changing to a gsp1101 or pod hd500 in 4cm so I can use models for clean sounds.
Also considering replacing everything with an axefx but I don't see that happening financially any time soon.

Using a TC Nova System. It will switch channels & can compensate for the volume drop depending on your patch settings. Just got this amp recently & really dig it!

I went to a clinic by Chris Canella of EVH amps/Jackson guitars he said the designer of the amp said to set the gain at 1:00 to 1:30 and there will be no volume jump. Still a rock clean that will clean some more with volume knob. I have been running mine like that and it works for me.

Mrhiwatt

My cleans are nowhere near clean with the gain at 1:00 and I still have a big volume jump.
I have to wonder of the volume jump is more extreme with hotter pickups?
I love the blue and red channels but I have to wonder if 4cm is the way to go for me... I don't want the 100 watt because Its overkill, the head is huge and I really like the midi on the 50 watt.

I just put a 5751 in V6, and it made a big difference for me!!! A lot less volume jump.

I use a Boss GE-7 in the loop to boost the clean channel.

The cleans are not clean with the gain at anywhere about 1:00. The volume jump is still apparent all the way through the gain knob control. It's massive. The only real way is to sacrifice the blue channel, and use a pedal for those tones, and only use the amp for green and red. I found putting anything in the loop would result in tiny split second moments of REALLY LOUDDDDDDD where it couldn't switch fast enough. This was from midi, using a Digitech GSP1101 in the loop.

I changed amp. I got a Diezel D-Moll. It's amazing. I only use my 5150III for bedroom recording now, where the volume jump doesn't matter. So much happier with the D-Moll.
