How will the E2 module expander work?

I currently have a Randall Lynchbox (RM100LB) and RM4. I use the Lynchbox to power the RM4 by running it via the parallel fx loop of the Lynchbox. I use an A/B switch to switch between the mods in the RM4 and the mods in the Lynchbox and then use the module footswitches to select the specific module. Works very well.

Anyway, so how does the E2 interface with an MTS amp? Does it require use of the fx loop as in the above example?
 
It works via the midi in the Egnater amps and I believe the Randall platform also. If using a loop (series) it has a built in loop switcher. One of the other advantages is that you dont loose the use of the loop. Your effects will still work with E2 in the loop.
