Basically I played the same stuff on the same rig and settings with different guitars:
-Edwards Page Les Paul with Bare Knuckle Emerald and RebelYell
-Gibson LP Special with BareKnuckle P91/92
-Gibson SG Standard with BareKnuckle MiracleMan and stock Gibson Neck
-Music Man Axis with stock pickups
-PRS McRosie with BareKnuckle VHIIs
-Hamer Sunburst with BareKnuckle ColdSweats
-Epiphone Les Paul Classic with BareKnuckle BlackDogs

As I haven't changed any settings, some parts might sound a bit too gainy or not enough, due to PU output differences. Also a correction of treble/presence could have optimised things for some, but I wanted to keep the settings untouched, to demonstrate the PU differences. It's really hard for me to pick a favourite or - the other way round - decide which of them I could let go.

Thanks.

On the OD clip I prefer the Emeralds: fat, defined, sweet high end.

I'm blanking: what's the solo you are playing at the end with the echoes? It sounds so familiar but I can't name it.

LOL keep guessing

still not coming back to you?

LOL. Live version of The Loner, it was on a Maxi back in the 80s, it's the intro before the actual Song starts ;)

Great !
I'm amazed of how clearly you can hear the character of each guitar/pickup, even on the highest gain settings. I probably liked the Edwards best, for pretty much everything.

Nice. Pretty good listening especially for Youtube. Now where's the Riff Raff! JK. I just ordered the Emerald bridge for my Gibson LP last week mostly based on your clips I found on the BKP forum.

What did you record this with?

i just blazed through the OD and HG clips, but God Damned if i didn't like the soap bars the best!

second would be the Epi with Blackdogs!

Damn, that Emerald is the ticket for an LP I'd say! Good job!

RiffRaff was in my SG but I just wanted to try something a bit more hotter.

Can't go wrong with the Emerald

I recorded direct into iMovie with my Macbook

Glad I just bought a Macbook Pro. :D

Tell me is the Riff Raff less bright or should I say does it have a more rounded top end than the Black Dog?
I liked the Black Dog but it seems a bit stiff and has a high top end. The Emerald just sings. Two more weeks and I'll have mine.

I like those P90's a lot too.

The RiffRaff is a very tight pickup, and it has less gain than the BlackDog. You can vary the treble content a great deal by how close you bring it to the strings. I got the BlackDog bridge very close, this might be the reason for the slight harshness in the top end. Just bring it down a mm or two and it will mellow out.
