I'm looking at one of these cabs locally with vintage 30's, anyone have any experience with them? are they all plywood? or is MDF used as well?

It's the top of the line hk cab, all ply and I think they gave an all rubber ball bearing wheels. In a the day they were like 1600. Does it have black grille cloth with silver strands runnin thru it?

Yeah, it has the sparkle strands... feel/looks like a sturdy cab. thanks art

I have a H&K cab that came with British Greenbacks. It is all plywood, decent sized wires, and all openings are gasketed. Mine sat at the local Guitar Center for months and I got it for $300. IMHO that cab is worth a $1000, it is just built that well. I have 1973 Creambacks in it now and it sounds great.

Anyone have or play one of these cabs lately?

I think the H&K cab I have is a CC? Loaded with Greenbacks, sounds awesome. I’ve had it about a decade now.

How would you compare it to other 4x12’s you e had?

For comparison I've had Marshall 1960s, Mesa Splitback 412s, Mesa Stiletto 412, Laney AOR 412s, Peavey 412s and Crate Blue Voodoo cab, so nothing super "high end".

Comparing it to the 1960s, its a bit more directional, but also sounds more solid. Even with Greenbacks it pumps a better low end than the Marshall cabs with 75s, I assume due to construction. The directional thing is a bit of a blessing and a curse. If playing it at home you can crank something into it, and easily get out of the beam, but if you happen to be doing a gig with the cab not mic'd in a small place you might have to get a little creative.

I would say it was on par with the Mesa stiletto 412. But lighter and easier to move, and sounded better to me with the GBs vs the Mesa V30s.

Now looking at stuff online, I might have a VC? I got it used for dirt cheap either way. If the VC sounds this good, I would say with no hesitation the CC would be great.
