Humbucker that sounds best with 250k pots ??

Guys, I don't usually need to post questions as my gear's been sorted for years however....

I've decided to put together a separate 'plate for my Silhouette Special just for studio use as I can't afford another guitar at the moment.
I've already got mid and neck Suhr V60LP's and I need a humbucker to suit.
I've got everything wired up and ready to go , except for the bridge 'bucker, with MojoTone 250K volume and tone pots.

The qualities I'm looking for from the bridge is at most, medium output ( so it splits nicely with the mid single and also has a useful single coil tone on its own ) but works well with my choice of pots and singles.

I don't want to go for fancy wiring or switching as it's beyond my skill level.

I was thinking about either a Suhr SSV or SSV+ as both are described as being very bright toned from the reviews I've read.
I figure this will be tamed nicely by the pot values.

Can anyone offer an opinion ?

The 'plate in it now has a Duncan JB with 2x Kinman singles.
This is amazing for rock and I've used it for years but I need an alternative for Bluesier low to mid gain tones.

You've already got the Suhr singles, I'd go w/ the SSV+ ....

But Suhr can also get you a schematic that will allow you to use a 500,K Pot for the Hummie, and the w/ caps & resistors, the singles will "see" the equivilent of 250,K ....

It's ALL Suhr, so for me that would be practically a no-brainer ... !
 
I'm new to soldering mate, so I don't want to risk screwing everything up by following a diagram I won't understand.
If I can find a Humbucker that will work nicely with the work I've done, I can sure of a useful alternative setup.
 
I have an S.D Pearly Gates that I had to install a Gibson 300k. There is certainly more room to go to a 250k if I wanted and still retain good tone. I have thought about doing it many rimes. Just another option for ya. Good luck in your search.

The JB was designed for use wth 250K pots, something most people don't realise when they moan about it being too powerful in the high mids.
That's where I'm coming from with my idea... the PG might also work.
 
Thanks I didnt know that about the JB. Yup I was sqawking about it and changed to the PG. Being new to soldering you can order the PG with two conductor wires for an easy install. I still have the JB and I'm going to experiment with it again with this new info. :thumbsup:
 
JB is the first thing that came to mind. I too had a Pearly Gates in a LPC w/300k pots and it worked very well...in fact I plan on putting it back.
 
Dimarzio Humbucker from Hell. Has all the qualities of a single so will work well with the 250K pot and has medium output.

I also have a white complete set of Suhr pickups (SSV, FLVs) that came out of an S4 I can part with...

If you want more output put a Dimarzio Super 2 in the bridge and rock the house!
 
The JB works very well with 250k pots, I like it more that way than with 500k's.
 
I had a Pearly Gates that was way too bright with a 500K. Had to roll the tone off significantly to be usable in a LP. I'm rolling the tone down to about 7-8 on a strat equipped with a 36th anniversary. I might try a 250K on that one too, although I have the '50's wiring' going on with that one. I may try the traditional wiring first and see how that changes things.
