I saw them last night and stood in front of the amp for a few tunes and then stepped back into the crowd for a few. It sounded like a cameron, very learn, bright, articulate. I guess I get it better now, it didn't strike me as the right sound for the early vh. Maybe it's me. I think the chasing of this sound is really the plexi thing wide open. I played Ed's main amp at Dave's. Once you put a master on the amp you lose that unbridledness of those early albums. Anyway, I had never actually heard anyone play a Cameron before on stage. Sounds pretty cool, not my thing but it cut like knife. Very edgy almost harsh but not. I've spent a number of years standing in front of my Friedman, they couldn't be more opposite. It's great the we have some many flavors these days.

James, you're right on the money with the inspiration thing. I've only had 3 Camerons but they were all that way. I've owned amps that sounded or recorded as good or better, but the Camerons just feel effortless to play in a weird way that I haven't felt with any of the other amps I've owned. Doesn't mean they're any better, though. Just different. Wish I had a Friedman to compare the feel to but I don't think I've ever seen one here in Dallas.

I always prefer an amp that cuts over a thicker bass voicing but both are pretty sweet amps. Your freidman modded 71 clips are what made me send my 75 out for mods!

Still LOVING my Atomica, and High gain/Low Gain, Jose Marshall SLP-- that Mark modded.
