Just wanted to share. Both albums kick so much ass

Favourite tune at the moment:

meh does nothing for me .... glad you like it though

Been following them for a while. Very talented musicians playing difficult music.

I can definitely imagine it's an acquired taste. Since they caught my attention by an accident, I thought some of you might like them too.

No matter what, you can't deny the complexity and the technical abilities though. Plus, I really enjoy the vocals, which is rather unusual in this genre of music for me.

cool guitar playing, I can do without that style of vocals though

Sounds like the guitars were recorded with a modeler. They need air around them. Do not like that type of modern sound/mix at all.
Missing magic of older school recordings. Distracts from the song/vibe.

I also found the arpeggios over the verse very annoying. Playing that stuff while a singer is singing a melody is very distracting and unnecessary.

Anyway, it's ok.

That's a point i defintely do not agree with. It might be a bit far-fetched, but those parts remind me of Cynic.
But I agree on the "more air" thing. If I'm not mistaken they use AxeFx.

That was cool as hell! I'll have to check these guys out! Thanks for that.

Yeah, it's an opinion. I just don't like it. I prefer to stay out of a singers way.

I guess I really just don't like that genre. :aww:

Kind of like a heavier and more creative Radiohead? I can definitely respect that... tons of musicianship there and interesting songwriting. Everything sounds the same nowadays songwise and production wise that this was nice to hear. Doesn't sound like a modeler to me. It is probably cab IR's or an Axe FX but I am not specifically hearing POD here. It isn't gutter vocals so most people won't like it on here. The drums are pretty bitchin though. The rythm section in this band could very easily be a backing band for something far heavier.

An AXfX is a modeler, correct?

I meant it sounds like a direct recording device.

A couple of my favorites:

Dark Hair Down:

And the first one I heard, Vanishing Rites. Reminded me of Queen meets Dream Theater:

I hear a big Karnivool vibe but I like Karnivool a lot more.

Style of vocals? You mean real singing instead of sounding like a Grizzly Bear choking on a salmon.

Lol, this music made me laugh out loud. Good guitar solo though.

Yeah, they wish they were as good as Limp Bizkit right.

That was pretty neat. Definitely talented players, and I don't mind the singer at all.

But, at least to me, I didn't hear anything that was a memorable hook in the guitars or vocals. So it just doesn't hold my attention for very long. It kinda just drones on.

Yep, to be honest I believe i like the style of the first album a tiny little bit better. Btw have you checked the acoustic sessions? Very cool imo.
