I'm guessing they would sound good with just about any amp you could throw at them. Keep dreaming I have a 4x12 with them and my vplexi turned up and roaring. Ugh, da gass she is uh keeling me.

You and me both.... I've got an empty cab just sitting there waiting for them but don't have an extra $700 laying around to buy a quad...

I guess I'll hop on the bandwagon. I'm thinking abour selling my Greenback re-issues and my Weber blue dogs to help fund the Purchase of the heritage greenies.

I still havent had a chance to play the heritage Greenies!

Do they sound that much different/better than the 25w GB reissues?

The greenback re-issues are good sounding speakersbut and they have a bit of the greenback vibe but they miss the mark. I compared my re-issues with danyeos originals and the RI's are duller sounding and have some grit but no sweet high end. The Heritages sounded pretty much like an old greenback IMHO and are a lot sweeter in the highs. (creamy highs withought being harsh)

So yes, they are better sounding and more accurate but Im not sure thye are worth the asking price!!

Ok, now someone's gonna try and kill me... But, I'm curious if anyone's tried the Weber GBs and the Weber Custom sets that folks were having made up from the Metro board? I've heard they're suppose to rock your balls off, but not much specifics, and no opinions on how they compare to the Heritages... For ~$99 a pop, that'd make me really happy. :)

One thing I'm curious of is whether the price jump is a marketing issue, economy of scale issue, of if they're using something like condensed baby tears and stuff to make them so magically. :D

I thought someone here had both the Heritage Greenbacks and Weber's version, and said that the Weber's sounded much better? Anyone remember who this was? I remember because $99 sounds better to me than $160 or so a speaker!

Sounds like i would definitly like them then! I havent ever played a cab with original greenbacks, so i have never been able to compare the RI vs originals.

But the main thing that concerned me with the Heritage's was the price.. theyre anywhere between £85-100 a speaker here, whereas pretty much every other speaker Celestion makes (aside from blues and golds) are like £40-50 at most.... For me that's a problem, because i like using a couple of 4x12 cabs with my rig, and no way could i afford to load 2 Cabs with the Heritages! :aww:

I think a few folks on TGP said the Heritage GBs break up MUCH more and faster than the RI GBs. In essence Heritage GBs are much looser than the RI. Can you confirm this ?

thanks

I've never been happy with the Webers or Scumbacks (made by Weber), to me they just sounded flat and dull, maybe becasue they try and age them so much to sound old. So now that you have a new/old sounding speaker, how is it going to sound when it is more broken in? Probably like a very, very old speaker that needs to be replaced

Cool, this is what I'm looking for. Thanks for the info.

so far I have only heard them in the EVH cab and we all know that cab isn't the best construction under the sun. That aside, these speakers sound fucking magical and that's no joke. Sweet highs and mids and very very nice lows. I know they are asking a small fortune for them but for me its the sound im after. I have a custom 4x12 partially ported along the lines of the V30 flavor. Now its time for somethign completely different.

If you sell the Weber blue dogs and they are the alinco 30W or 50W versions 8ohms, let me know.

I am really curious how the warehouse greenbacks clones will sound...

Please forgive my ignorance -- I may be asking a dumb question here.

The G12Ms are only rated at 20W. If you put them in a 4X12 with a 100W head, won't you stand a very good chance of blowing the speakers?

They arent the alnico versions Blackba. They are the ceramic 30 watters but they have a 30 ounce mag instead of the usual 40 oz mag to mimic Greenbacks a bit more. They sound like a cross between a greenback and a h30 IMHO.

it depends. i have been hearing conflicting reviews and I guess the topic is highlyu subjective to peoples opinion. I'll have to ask Gnugear because I trust his ears. He has tried them all and I know that he has an original pre rola cab that he compared the webers, scumbacks and heritages to. Im not sure what he settled on.

With that said, in my own personal experiance, i always come back to the celestions. I tried the Weber Blue Dogs and even though I like them , Im not in love with them like i am the heritage speakers.

Hey brother, let us know what Gnugear thinks when you talk to him... Also, post what you think when you get the new set sometime.

Has anyone gotten any better pricing out of dealers for the EVH cab yet or are they MAP only still?
