So I bought a brand new kemper powered head and remote with a pair of expression pedals. It will be here tomorrow from sweetwater and I want to set it up. I want the have it ready for this weekend so I will know if I can gig be without tubes. Mainly looking for everyone’s favorite 80s/Friedman/Splawn tones. I don’t know if people have samples or exactly how it works. I know I was pretty blown away by the mbritt profiles I was able to play through. Tell me any and all of your favorites. I know we have mattfig, TAF, etc etc I want the juiciest and fattest solo tones so any recommendations will get looked at. I play mainly Charvels but also use old Gibson’s and ESP. All guitars are loaded with MCP pickups and vintage hotness. Also gonna get a new pedalbaord for the remote and exp pedals so let me know what you use. My current board is way too big. Thanks guys.

Not an 80s guy, but Mattfig for Friedmans, also LRS (Live Ready Sound) Friedmans kick ass, the Cameron profiles from EXPCustom on here are seriously great and would do 80s and VH really well. Also check out Big Hairy Profiles packs of the Henning amps.

Look for JerEvil’s Splawn tones on the Rig Exchange as well.

Thanks man! I still love the recordings of my Splawn profiles I did with Tim Owens. As a matter of fact, I thought about buying another Splawn but will likely just get a Kemper and use the profiles! LOL!

Also, hands down, Guido's are THE best IMHO for the tones the OP asked about.

GREAT prices and he plays "our style" of music. I would use these or the MBritt Boggy Sol/PT100 profiles for 80's butt-rock.

I haven't heard much of the Fig stuff that compelled me to check them out when I was an Kemper guy. Also not sold on the MTS version of the amps which many of these are. I know lots of folks like them so take my feedback on them with a grain of salt.

Guido's stuff is aces though. Some of my favorites. His also sounded CLOSEST to me when I downloaded and used them vs the recorded clips on his site. Not a lot of post processing.

I will mention, our own Vrad's stuff. His MKV:25 profiles are great.

No worries....My initial profiles were less than great but have come a long, long way....As for MTS, it's part of what I do but not everything I offer is MTS...Specifically, for this case, my BE100 is an actual Friedman BE-100 that I own....Just to clarify!

Thanks....

PS. JerEvil, you still have your KPA?

the friedman be100 that comes stock is awesome!

By the way we're the only "Official Cameron" profiles, Mark refines them himself. We sell exclusively through Ebay and we are doing a best offer sale right now. Just look us up on Ebay Cameron Kemper profiles.

Profile your QR

/thread

That’s what I figured. Was gone all day for my wife’s birthday but fed ex didn’t leave it on my porch. I live in the middle of the woods and left a note with my signature and asked they leave it but no dice. I guess I can finally set it up and play it tomorrow. I will profile my Splawn with a few of my favorite cabs and let it rip. I didn’t get the profile from my buddy but I feel I can get a better one anyway. I will check out all the suggestions above and go from there. Appreciate the help guys. I want the closest thing tI Slash’s appetite tone. I feel like my rig currently nails it pretty well and beyond but the ability to use all the other amps and my own will be amazing. I hope the PowerHead doesn’t disappoint. I will report back when I can A/B it against my rig at gig volumes tomorrow. Can’t wait

I just did the opposite a few months ago. I sold my Kemper and bought a bunch of tube amps and 4x12 cabs including a QR.

I don't but like i said, I have been toying with the idea of another Quick Rod but decided if the itch persists I'm just going to grab another Kemper and use my old Spawn profiles! LOL!

It's been about a year and a half since I owned one. I really wish CK would release that white rack from NAMM!
