It's all well and good to bitch about your job, everyone does. But speaking as someone who was laid off recently and is now thrust back into the job market...it sucks. I've resigned myself to the notion that I'll wind up making less then I was previously, which really does suck, cause I was barely comfortable where I was before.

I don't know where ya'll work, but it cannot be that bad. I'd shovel shit if I could find the work. Being out of work and being broke and just barely being able to scrape by on savings (good bye place of my own) sucks, a lot.

I know what its like for money to be tight, my wife is in college full time. I'm barely scraping by. I have to dabble in savings quite often just to keep the bills paid.

absolutely! they're called state government jobs. My friends who didn't go to college got state jobs out of high school. it's basically higher-paid welfare. they surf the web from 9-3:30 and then go home, have countless sick/vacation days, and basically don't do anything.

i actually love my job. i used to do residential electrical work and hate it, now i do commercial/industrial work in schools, buildings etc and i couldnt be having more fun.

Its not my nature to do a half-assed job, and thats my whole problem... i do my job TOO well, which means they give me MORE WORK. Apparently I am the only one who knows how to do my job right and the only one they trust to do it right, therefore who gets all the work? ME!
