Just joined the "Tweed Twin" club last night so I thought I'd revive this old thread.

Details on my amp:

It's a kit built, low power (5E8A) circuit in the bigger cab of the earlier tweed twins. It was built by someone named Tom Seward. I think he started with a kit from Weber but I don't know (or even if such a kit exists). It looks and sounds great. Transformers (Merc Mag) and Weber alnico speakers are the same that Fender uses in its Custom Shop '57 amp. Power tubes are NOS Tung Sol 5881's. Pre-amp tubes are JJ's (different from those in the pictures). It currently have a Mojo ss rectifier in there but I do have NOS tube rectifiers. I haven't tried them yet but I expect a bit more volume and thickness to the sound.

The amp sounds great. I'm really looking forward to driving it in a gig/rehearsal setting and putting a little OD in front of it.

Anybody put a lot of miles on one of these?
