And he was in a band with my friend and I heard the dork knocked the guitar over and broke the headstock. That's Karma, don't waste my time. hahahahhahahhahahhahahhhahah.

LOL!!! What a dumbass!! That is like some guy kicking tires at a car dealership and then getting T-boned in the intersection as he is driving off the lot.

Most transactions with sales are such a pain in the ass, that when one goes good, it is like you want to shake the person's hand and tell them thanks for not being a nutjob.

I think the seller is saying the same thing. Some people don't want to inconvenience a wife/family by having over strangers. Maybe his house is a mess. Who knows.

Who's to say you wouldn't come over and waste HIS time? It's not all about YOU, bro. He may think you're just as big a douche, (and it sounds like he may have a valid assumption, to a small degree), but no need for him to have a meltdown. But, I see nothing strange about it, whatsoever, and feel his request to meet was more than adequate.

Look at all the gear you have returned in recent months because it didn't meet your expectations, I'm sure those sellers felt you wasted their time and I'm sure you felt validated for your actions. That was because their evaluation of the items were different than yours, you felt they were deceptive or you just didn't care for the gear once it got to your house,( I sure they may have valid assumptions about you, to a small degree).

The fact is I didn't think the guy was douche for his views or strange to meet in a public place. Sometimes I have requested to meet at a police station parking lot for a high dollar item if I felt something was possibly off with the buyer it's a free market. His retort was douchey and childish. In the end he's the one trying to sell something not me.

I agree with you, with respect to wanting the gear to meet expectations, and atleast live up to the seller's description. I find, more than not, people tend to be way off. A guitar in mint condition shouldn't have dents/dings, nor should a new one, but 100's, if not thousands of people list and sell as such.

My point was, there's nothing "strange" about your encounter, as described in your OP, whatsoever. The chance to view the guitar was still at your disposal, it just wasn't handled your way, and/or meet your demands. I'm sure there was more discussion that are left out here, which is probably why he said what he did, (right or wrong). Don't forget, 20 other people probably jacked him off too, so you may have been the poor bastard that finally got the ear full. Most people on CL are tire-kickers, low-ballers, and time-wasters. I don't even bother selling on there anymore.
