I need a good Phase 90 sound that is low noise, not subtle.

I have a Strymon Mobius and I can't get that thing to do a Phase 90 type sound. Plenty of other great phaser sounds though and it's rather quiet so I'm going to keep it for all it does.

So, I need a good Phase 90 type pedal. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles. Needs to be small (MXR size not mini). I'm looking for a VanHalen type phase that can be a little more "in your face" if needed. I will be playing it in front of my MV amps (before gain) and use it just for when I'm playing distorted rhythm and leads. The Mobius can handle the clean phasing.

I have played a TC, Original 70's script Phase 90, Whirlwind Orange Box and a Blackout Effects Whetstone.

Whetstone could do a lot but I couldn't get the Phase 90 type of sound I was looking for. Was too big.

Original Phase 90 had the sound but was a little noisy and too subtle.

TC was quiet but didn't have the Phase 90 sound to my ears.

The Orange Box had the tone but was noisy and had this LFO ticking sound I couldn't get past. Emailed their tech support and never heard back.

I have ruled out all of the MXR variants because I want a little bit more control other than speed and a little more intense phasing than I've read and heard they offer.

Here is what I would like:

1. Quiet.
2. Excels at a Phase 90 sound.
3. A control for it's intensity.
4. Volume control.

The ones on my radar are the Mojo Hand Nebula IV, VFE Enterprise and the Retro Sonic (may be too subtle).

Please give me your opinions on those I've mentioned above or any other suggestions that meet me stringent requirements.

Thanks in advance!

With TB, mix, LED and volume modifications, the AM modified Phase 90 is $219. If that will achieve what I'm after and be quiet then maybe that is the way to go. All of the other pedals I mentioned are cheaper though and I thought might be a little better than the mass produces MXR pedal.

The Custom Shop MXR pedals are "handwired", which is better than most of their regular line.
Send a mail to Analog Mike and ask him if the pedal would fit your needs, apparently his customer service is awesome
