i Play metal, holla at me with some? I was looking into the Line 6 X2 XDR 95 Rackmount Guitar Wireless System, but looks like they discontinued it on me...help a bro out

I've had the pedal version of that system and for the last two years and it has never failed on me. Also, the tone is more transparent than most other wirelesses I've used (Shure, AKG, etc.)

Good luck! Lots of R&D has been spent on this and much false advertising.

There is no way that your tone won't be altered. You just have to compensate knowing the impact the wireless has on your rig.

I got tired of messing with it and went back to trusty Zaolla cables.

I've read a lot of wireless threads on TGP and Huge Racks Inc.

Line6 G30 or G50

I purchased the G30 one hour before a gig and was up and running in two minutes. And it sounded fine. Maybe there's some tonal coloration if you AB with a cable or are in a studio but live it's fine with me.

X2 is the best I've found. Line 6 makes them now and they've jumped in price. PM'd.

Ive got a line 6 g30, and its awesome. I cant tell the difference between it and using cables, in terms of sound. The distance you can go is really fun too.

I had several X2 units including the XDR95. I had to send back two due serious crackling. I had another which came with a bad cable. The transmitters were very cheap/thin plastic. I've used several mid-grade wirelesses in the past few years and settled on the Line6 G90 (rack version). It's not completely transparent, but more so than any other mid-grade wireless I've used. Also this is SOOOOoooo much stronger and built better than the x2 stuff I had.

I have been using the Line 6 Relay G30 for about a month now and have been TOTALLY happy with it! It actually sounds brighter/cleaner than a cable. I tried them both back to back and the wireless sounds better, to my ears anyway. I got mine for $199 and it was brand new. Cant beat that!

Love the G50. Solid metal construction on both the transmitter and receiver.

The Line6 units are as close as you can get to using a real cable.

I did a recorded test with my X2, and after 5 minutes I couldn't tell which clip was which.

Definitely a Line 6 Relay system. The G30 is sufficient for most

Line 6 G50 or G90 depending on what you need (Rack vs Board).
I suggest buying some extra cables though.
The 50 an 90 units use the locking connector.

I cannot stand those locking TA4f mini-xlr connectors (Lectrosonics, Shure, Line 6 Relay). I've never had one last more than a month for me.
