I need a pickup that kicks ass damnit!

I got this Wolfgang and Im not liking the bridge pup at all I had a wolfgang years ago and remembered that it was big and beefy sounding...really thick...almost too thick. Now this new one has had the bridge pup replaced with a wolfgang pup bought from Peavey but it sounds like garbage to me. I own an Axis and it's been my main guitar for at least 7 years. I love the way the Axis sounds, it matches up really nice with my Quickrod. My QR is very picky about guitars, pups, and speakers. I want a similar sound out of the wolfgang as my Axis

here is what I was thinking...

Tone Zone
EVH wolfgang (new wolfies)
Duncan EVH
Afwayu
Aldrich
Rio Grande BBQ

Outta the bunch the Aldrich and Afwayu are maybe the thickest sounding, guitar and playing dependent of course. The other one I'd check into is this one:

BKP are the best bar none. I have 3 sets and counting...

The DiMarzio Tone Zone is the closest production pickup to the ones in your Axis.

I emailed dimarzio and asked which pickups were the closest to the pickups in the Axis, there response was The closest available neck pickup is a standard-spaced Air Norton (DP193). The closest bridge pickup is an F-spaced AT-1 (DP224F). Andy Timmons (very close to a Tone Zone)

Id go with the afwayu. In general, I tend to like MCP over BKP...theres just something in the character of Wades stuff that I like more.

You might want to check out a Sin bucker. He sells them on ebay.
I played a guitar with one and it sounds almost identical to the EVH Wolfgang pickup for a third of the price.
Still hight output like the Peavey Wolfgang pickups, but without that high end fizz.

Duncan Distortion. I've had MCPs : Afwayu, Jerry Cantrell sig, Solution, Angel Dust, BKP Painkiller and I prefer the Duncan Distortion to all of them. Kicks ass on my QR.

I ordered the Alnico magnets with the aged nickel covers and just seeing the covers inspired me to distress the whole guitar

my .02 cents worth. I own a Wolfgang w/ original pickups, I own a Suhr Modern w/ Aldrich pickups, I own a Wayne Rock Legend w/ a BKP Holydiver bridge, I own a Charvel w/ JB bridge.

I like all of them but the pickup that really kicks all kind of ass is the Wolfgang, maybe it's wired wrong?
