It sucks when descriptions don't inform you of potential B-stock, opened box things. However, this unit is hardly something somebody would swap components out from. I had a power amp section in which someone replaced tubes in a return for an amp I bought one time. Apollo gear is high-end semi-pro stuff with a big price tag. So they would get returns and just repack them if the shop sent it back because it was opened. Yeah, it's bad if something is on a shelf but usually in a cabinet somewhere so dust won't gather. Unless it was bleached with direct sunlight then there might not be a problem with it. Also, does it work? Sometimes if an item was used in the shop and worked then it should work for you also. Guitars can be like that also. I don't mind if guitars have been hung up for show or items in the showcase. If they are taken care of then okay. If it's not damaged or broken or looking used, then give it a go IMO. Might get a discount on your next item.
