Tonally, it's better than at 120w. Just a touch of lowend punch lost. Not really that noticeable at band volume. In comparison, at 120w it sounded kinda stiff and stuffy, at all volume levels.
At 60w there is a big increase in dynamics too and it appears to have more gain...strange. I had to back it off a notch from my usual setting. The amp is still loud as shit. Volume is not a concern here.
I did this out of necessity really, because I needed two 6L6's for my Single Recto. The 6L6's in there are slightly micorphonic and the EL34's I had in it afterwards weren't sounding as good as 6L6's.
But now I think I'm going to leave the 6505 at 60w because it sounds great.
