Man was he good. I went a friend of mine who is a long time fan of his and we were both stoked. He and his wife, Emi, played with the Les Paul Trio. There were two sold out shows. It was nuts. We stayed for both. I got to meet Paul and get a picture with him, and while we were waiting, they took us backstage to me Emi. My friend used to work there and new Paul a long time ago. Emi is a monster on the piano and keyboards. Backstage, Paul's guitar was just leaning against the wall on a chair about 2 ft from me   I so wanted to start taking pictures, but we were speaking to Emi so I didn't want to be rude. Anyway, I thought I would post this video from youtube so you guys could see what it was like. It is not my video, I thought they would be broadcasting a webstream, but I don't see one. I only took one or two pictures and one is of me and Paul and no one needs to see that...lol, but I have a good one of Paul and Emi on stage that I can post later.

PG is just one of the best guys out there really - both in terms of playing/shows and being a great guy as well, he always seems to have time for his fans. Seen him on his own and with Mr. Big and met him briefly a couple of times and he's such a cool guy. Massive hands as well!

Jelly. Paul seems like a guy you could actually hang out with and joke around. I'm a big fan of his playing and his attitude towards playing.

He definitely seemed really cool, but very exhausted. He only met fans and did autographs after his second set and to be fair quite a few fans seemed very wordy and took advantage of his time. I mean he had a line of people waiting and they were basically doing their own little interviews of him. I wasn't on line and was standing behind him with the staff so I got a good shot of this and was getting pissed off for him. Instead of saying, " Hey thanks Paul, I am a fan can I get a pic or can you sign this...." it was that plus, "...so like when I get on a plane I want to take my guitar and like well I don't know how. So like what do you do? I realize you are a major deal and all and everything that applies to you obviously applies to me, but can you explain to me in great detail the process you go through? Really? A gig bag? Can I take my Gibson ______ in a gig bag? Oh other people in the line? I only have 15 more questions. Oh and can I get a picture?"

Everytime someone did that I wanted to knock them out, but I knew I would be the asshole. When I got my pic I couldn't even be bothered to say anything. I felt so bad I just managed, "Thanks Paul."

Im sorry that I missed this but Ive been going full bore and dont see much end in sight. Ive got a wake and funeral to deal with on top of it all tomorrow and Friday..

Thank you for sharing this video. I had the chance of seeing him last year while on a family vacation in LA at the Guitar Center on Sunset. He did a 3 hour set and was a really cool person. He even gave my young daughter and niece picks.

:hys: i always laugh uncontrollably when fans start to ask these kind of questions to their idol (be it a guitar player, movie star, sports star or whoever else).

they just start pretending like they are best buds with the person hahahah

Awesome that you got to see/meet both Paul and Emi, I was quite impressed with her playing on Vibrato, and Paul of course is pretty much the coolest player on the planet. It seems like his ego is completely inverse to his ability...more players could learn from this.

Here is a pic of Paul and Emi. I just realized after blowing up this pick that he has humbuckers on that Fireman.

Hes a PA boy.its hard to get a big ego.theres too many people thatll keep ya in line.

A funny thing to me i noticed is...

Paul has a solo album called "behive live".
Hes from Greensburg,Pa.

On US rte 22 not far outside of Greensburg is a strip club called " the beehive". Im guessing hes been there.
I pass thru there at least once a week.
