After using my Fryette Fatbottom cabs for the last couple years, I think I am headed back to rear loaded ordinary as fuck Marshall cabs. The Fryette cabs have a ton of low end but I don't need any more, especially with the amp that I use now, it has more low end that I could ever need. Also, the Marshalls have a sweeter top end than the front loaded Fryettes. I just think that Marshalls are more my thing after all.

Great debate, and Id love to have an old school Marshall cab.

However I must ask, what are your intensions with the FB cabs? :worship:

I don't like Marshall cabs. My Stone Age 212 and Bogner 212 both sounded better than either my Marshall 1960 a or 1960b. Favorite 412 cabs are Bogner and Splawn. Smoother, richer and more full than Marshalls, unless maybe you find one from the 70s.

I agree, but it has been a very long time since I played through a Marshall cab. Bogner and the Cameron cabs get my vote!!!

I love my bogner V30 4X12, it's also 10+ years old now so very broken in, sounds great. That said I like Marshall cabs too, generally do not like mesa cabs though.

I am interested in going to Marshall 412 cabs. How are the Marshall 1960BHW cabs with the Heritage G12H30s?

i love mine. it's thick and meaty...mine is not fully broken in just yet. I got mine for a great price.
I agree. It's one of the only cabinets I liked right out of the box. I really dig the Heritage H30's 55Hz.

Agreed, fantastic cabs, just got a angled cab with G12H30s'. I was surprised just how bright they are, which is good. I'm trying an X pattern with some V30s' ATM, they mix well. I always associated GBs' with being dark. I'm surprised at how much brighter they are than the GB M25s' I was previously using, more efficient too.

Awesome, congrats!

Is it in good shape? I'm going to offer my guy $300 but I don't think he is going to take it since he is asking $400.

Its hard to argue against something that has worked for so many of the biggest names in music history for so long....

ive only seen pictures, but it seems to only be some tolex wear...nothing unusual for a cab that is almost 30 years old. my Laney is the same way. a little beat up, but still solid! im going to be checking it out and hopefully buying it in the morning.
