Thinking of unloading my JSX for a Blackstar HT100 head, or HT60 2x12 combo... Their demos, and all clips I've been exploring have blown me away. My JSX isn't giving me enough "British" flavor. I've been pondering another DSL, but the Blackstars seem to pack more useable gain, and punch, right out of the gate.

Am I crazy?

We just played both a blackstar 100 and a jvm 205 and I would take the jvm 205. I'm into the 80's tones but I was waiting for more with the blackstar.

Do what I did.

Kept my JSX for compressed modern high gain tones, and picked up a Laney GH50L on the used market for cheap. Awesome British flavor rock and metal tones.

GO try it out. i didn't really care for the JSX when I tried one, loved the HT-5. Not sure about their 100 watters, but I would doubt its chinese junk. However, as mentioned, also try the Marshall. best to see which one you dig

I'm pretty sure the Chinese know how to wire up a circuit board.

Lord knows they get enough practice with the soldering iron. TBH, I think a lot of it is due to habit.
Koreans make excellent guitars now, when I started, they made the shittiest starter packs.
China has been soldering and making circuits for decades now. Of course, when you churn out ten times as many of a product, there will be a higher number of errors, but that doesn`t mean the percentage of error is bigger. Over here, most stuff, except for our furniture, car, and the house itself, is in some way made in low-cost Asian countries. Clothes, house electronics, shoes..

+1 for the Blackstar.. I used a HT100 head and the mega Series 1 200 for some beefy rhythm tracks in the studio recently. I actually preferred the HT, it has an ace hot rodded marshall tone with real nice mids.

Play one and if you dig it, get it.

I love the sound of the Blackstar HT amps. Not for everybody, but I think their great. Play mine more than my Mark IV.
