I mean isn't that sound just ripping or what?vDoes your CCV's sound like this? What pickup does Mark have in there?

My CCV sounds like that... I brought it out today and several other forum members can confirm it :D

Hey what pickups you got in your Les paul Dave? Old duncan distortion? I am thinking about putting a distortion in my Les Paul. I want a nasty ripping sound like in both those clips.

I agree with Dave on the Blackstar. I have the 1 watt version and it sounds killer. Ralph (Gainfreak) throws a Maxon Overdrive in front of his HT-5 and said it sounds absolutely killer.

I could not make it, freaking band practice.

Mark only had enough parts for one, maybe two of those good CCV's. The rest sound like HT-5's with a pedal in front.

If you want to hear a killer sounding CCV track down EBEN from here on Rig Talk and see if you can get to hear it. I owned 2 ccv's and heard one other and it just had the mojo. It used to be Erocks at one time and it was a ealier one. I unloaded it to give the new CCV a shot but that time still hasn't come.  Why be stupid if you cant show it. :D

Greenback 25's and H30's are great with the CCV. It sounded crappy with the vintage 30's.

PSA: if you are getting a CCV you better have greenbacks or H30's otherwise you will have 2nd rate tone

I agree that the CCV works the best with either h30 or GB speakers!! It's crazy how much the speakers can make or break a sound. With v30's that amp was like...Ok... With Greenback it was the monkeys nuts hahahhaa!!

Great hanging with you Gents !!!

Agree. Everything sounded good through the Greenback cab. Can't remember if the CCV was run through the Mesa cabinet, but I didn't like the ENGL cabinet at all on any amp really. It's a bad example of the sound of V30's I think. CCV + Greenbacks = win, it was a very impressive tone.

Great times indeed! It was great meeting all who showed
