Anybody got some pics?! I know its wrong or whatever but I think it would be cool to see what the master does in there. BTW: I am no amp builder or modder but some retard with a soldering iron that likes to see inside of amps. Since I will never get the change to own one is it wrong for me to ask?

I could be wrong, but I think he covers the "magic" stuff up with epoxy or some other goopy subststance to avoid reverse engineering of his mods. I think Dave Bray does the same thing.

Oh I didn't know that.. I wonder type/brand epoxy he uses? Maybe it adds tone?

Dumbles have the same although there are alot of builders who say they have cracked the Dumble magic code...Who knows. Some will agree and others say no. Tone is so subjective. :scared:

I just hope Mr. Cameron sprinkles some of his magic pixie dust on my CCV-100.

I dont know about that...but if anyone knows of a spray or substance that will instantly give us all Guthrie's chops...I'd like a case of it please.

does anybody know what kind of tubes he prefers and guitar pickups to run with his amps?

I think Mark used to suggest SED's for EL34's and Sovtek 12AX7LPS for preamp tubes.. but those 12AX7LPS's have become inconsistent so im not sure about now..

Yeah, Mark does that for sure and I believe alot of other folks do it too?

I remember Trace Davis at Voodoo Amps caught crap for doing that as well. I don't think he does it anymore and has patented designs in his production amps, but the mods are definitely covered up.

Trace and mark both goop their circuits , they still sound good and I haven't had trouble with either, had both for 4 years or so, just sold the voodoo.

No Trace does not. End of story.

He used to, the one I just sold definetly had some black epoxy covering part of the circuit.

finding Cameron gut shots is about as complicated as going over to the gear classified and clicking on the Cameron Aldrich that's for sale. :poke:

I am quite aware.. I own one. I can send it back and Trace will redo it for free. I really couldn't care less about it but I do get annoyed when someone brings it up as if its some big problem or something. Bottom line is Voodoo amps takes care of their customers so why worry. He hasn't put that stuff in amps for a long time now.

So you'd NOT get your amp modded purely because the guts are epoxied?

Makes me laugh when people make a big deal out of it... most of the people who complain about epoxy being used, are the people who are only into buying modded amps so they can copy the mods or make schematics of them... to eventually sell them off as their own.
