I like g12t75s with Marshall's, but never with my Mesa mark Iva. In the past I didn't use the graphic eq much On my mark Iva, so maybe that is it.

I still prefer cl80s, v30s, and g1265s to the g12t75 though.

I like the way G12T-75s sound in recordings (particularly the chunky palm mute), but I generally hate standing in front of them.

Makes ya wonder about the whole speakers are voiced for the head thing.

I gave them many chances and I havent found a combo with them that I liked. cool if you could coax some good tones out of them

I really like the 75's. I have a cab loaded with 65's and prefer the 75's with my 800. I've been saying this for a long time and taking a lot of flack for it.

I played my Egnater Renegade through a G12t-75 loaded Marshall 4 x 12 at our rehearsal studio on Saturday and thought it sounded terrible. It was really buzzy and harsh sounding. I used a Bugera cabinet there the week before that sounded way better.

I have a 1960A cab in which I swapped 2 12T75's with Greenbacks and it sounds much better now, both speakers balance each other out pretty well.

There's almost no such thing as a bad speaker; just bad speaker/amp combinations. G12T-75s are one of the absolute best choices for a JCM 800 or similarly British voiced amps with enhanced midrange.

Scooped mid amps such as Rectos fair much better with V30s. Its all about balancing things out, although of course a scooped amp with a mid heavy speaker is a very different tone and feel than a middy amp and scooped speaker combination.

I was told that many of those recordings where you have crunchy but clear tones, like Wolf Hoffman, come in part from g12t-75s in the cabs. I could never verify that, but I can see it.

My fave all time speaker. Here is my home made 4x12 with my 5150:
