I play EBMM guitars and they have spent alot of time on the phone with me researching parts, years, and pretty much any questions I had

Called PRS this morning and the woman was rude as hell. More or less rushing me off the phone. For those that know me I am a very patient and soft spoken guy. I give the benefit of the doubt to everyone. This woman could care less of what I was asking for...just pissed me off

Anyways, all I wanted to know was the year and the specs of my buddy's guitar. Im trying toset it up for him and it has a couple broken tuners (old style barrel type sleeve). I want to change these with different ones...and I want the holes to line up, that's all

can anyone help?

Email Shawn (he is the guy in charge of the repair center) at the PTC...send him the year and model of the guitar or the serial number and he can look it all up...not sure if htey have replacements that fit for the winged style tuners (thats what it sounds like you have anyhow)

I've talked to them on the phone a few times and they were always more than helpful.

So what! You got some bitch on her period. I wouldn't blame the whole company. You can find one like that at any company. And why not just go over to the Birds And Moons forum and get your question answered.

Could have been a single douche out of a bunch of really good people you got hold of. Could have been having a good day and decided to take it out on you. When companies get this big, these kind of problems tend to crop up.

Maybe that woman got turned down last nite by her husband/boyfriend. Lack of sex piss ppl off.

So you're going to dismiss an entire company because of one person?

Sorry to hear that Mr. Toneking. I have had the oposite experience with them. I have an SE (yes, SE!) that had a fretboard issue from the Korean factory. My dealer sent it off to PRS USA and they fixed it! Could not beleive it. Then on the way back from being fixed UPS decided to use it as a jack stand. PRS fixed the original problem and ups fucked up the rest of the guitar.  Jerks. Anyway, PRS USA replaced the entire guitar. I am a very pleased PRS customer.

Why would that stop you getting a seriously awesome guitar?

That woman at the from desk is short with customers. I was there recently for a tour ad she was nasty when giving the sponsored artist and i visitor badges.

Every single person other than her i met that day was friendly and helpful. A others have said don't let her mar the company name for you.

Ya should hear my PRS Private Stock story...

I'll never play one again, ever.

And I spoke to the man himself. Zero customer service. Zero

Wow, why are so many people upset at this guy? because he decided not to deal with PRS anymore? There is really no excuse or reason for being treated that way, especially when all he was doing was making a simple inquiry. I really don't blame him. Although personally, I would brush off the first instance and try contacting someone else but, jebus...no need to get upset at a guy who came here to blow off some steam after a negative experience :dunno:

LOL Try relating a negative story about Grosh over at TGP or a PRS one at BaM. All the fan boys will roast you.

Thanks Hoff  That's all I was doing was venting. I needed answers, I asked here a few times...I never heard of birds and moons before and I was just getting frustrated. I have my buddys guitar and I want to get it set up fpr him but it had broken machine heads. Then I call the company and some woman was just flat out rude on the phone...it wasnt like I was being an asshole.

Anyways, I did get a call back from Mike there. Mike however was a very cool and helpful guy. The footprint on these tuners is the same as a schaller. The old style prs tuners with the collars were in fact made by schaller and they would physically snip and file the d and g string tuners to share the same screw. I just didnt want to drill new holes in my buds guitar...especially now that I found out that its worth ALOT of money. It has a very low serial number, set neck, brazillian rosewood fretboard with the moons and original pups, the pups in which he said can fetch $400-$600 a set, how much truth there? Idk, but Mike has been there since '87 and gave me the rundown of how back then they were just hopefull of keeping the doors open...they never filed any serial numbers back when my friend's guitar was build (1986)

So there you have it. Sorry I jumped to conclusions. He even laughed when I spoke of the woman answering the phone (Janet)...mentioned that she "is like that". In all honesty if I hadnt got the call back I wouldve written them off. I have been in business for myself and whether youre in a shitty mood or whatever, you always conduct yourself professionally...especially when youre selling guitars for thousands of dollars imo

That sucks bro,I have to say that customer service should be number one in any ones shop,I would fire that chick in a heartbeat if thats the case

Everytime I have met Paul he has been very nice, more than willing to sign stuff for my customers. He is in his own world a little bit though. If you know what I mean

go to the prs web site, you can date your guitar with the specs there, how many times a day do you think their phone rings,
and to answer that question  pm me the serial number and I will tell you what it is

Did that. Like I said, Mike said prior to '87 they never kept records...they were just hoping to keep the doors open. Their site says the year but not the specs
