im thinkign about this or the flashback. i would love the el cap but is to limited for what i want to do.

Both of these pedals are fantastic and you can't go wrong with either, However the IB modified Nova delay is my choice. You would be hard pressed to beat it's feature set. too much to list but
tap tempo
global tempo
presets 9 (but can be reduced to 1 or 3 or whatever you choose to scroll through faster)
spill over
BPM or mill sec digital readout. (awesome if playing to a click or to a set list)
analog or digital sound with modulation
stereo operation.
2290, plus dynamic delay which holds back the repeats while your playing and when there is time after a phrase then the repeats kick in. totally cool.
the new buffer makes the unit sound great.
I think there is only two drawbacks to the nova. No expression pedal out and midi.
and It uses an analog to digital back to analog converter so your signal is not analog through like the flashback .
but the Delay is just packed with features that most delays can't touch. plus it looks cool with the orange color and you can get it on ebay for $189. which is cheap for what it does. I don't think you could do any better in the digital market without spending double the price and getting a time factor. I saved some cash and bought the Nova plus a Boss dd3 and a cheap Behringer VD400 which is plastic but true analog and sound great all for under 300. Get the Nova unless you want a kick as tape echo sim then go for the strymon. They both rock. but I chose the TC. hope that helps. good luck with your choice.

I have a VOX Time Machine, and I wish I had gone with the TC.

Thanks guys. I think the difference in the tape echo simulation is not life and death, but the presets could be incredibly convenient. Think I'll grab the TC and see if we get along.

i just got a flashback and its awesome i love this pedal for my go to always on delay if i choose to go that route. paired with the hall of fame reverb its a real winner. I will say this...it does alot of great things but for example i cant get it to sound like my carbon copy, and thats ok because my carbon copy sounds like a carbon copy and you cant really tweak it. my brother has a el capistan and its as good as it gets for tape sounds, but thats all it does tape variations. So im going to a/b the elcapistan against the carbon copy if i like the el capistan more i will get one but my flashback is to cool to let go because of its versatility. hopefully they release the topeprint software to the public.

Flashback is a great pedal, every one that has it seems to love that little delay, and hopefully my next delay pedal and then I think I'm set. I am sure they will release the software after a while, there is just too much demand for It. I want the regular one but the toneprint off the Alter Ego of the Binson. That would be cool. TC makes good stuff for sure.
