Ibanez experts. Need some info.

Was looking at this Ibanez locally. RG570CTTB

IS this one of the cheaper lower end ones.

Not familiar with too many alder ones.
Is it a real maple top or vaneer?
Is it going to be really bright or not anymore than any other alder/rosewood start?

I confirmed it does come with case and rem bar included.

You might want to try and find a mid 80's RG550... Baboon Piss Yellow or Baboon Ass Pink... don't worry about cracks in the finish... Should be cheaper than those "maple" tops...
 
$400 is a good price for that MIJ model, the maple is pretty much a photo flame so you are getting an alder tone wood guitar.

It should have a Wizard I neck, which is their thinest. Good guitars, but IMHO they are quite bright. I have one, and a RG770, and they are both very bright. But that's nothing the right pickups can't cure.

My 770 is a bit bright, but I like it a lot. Sounds great for leads.

On the other hand, my Artcore is way too bright due to it being an all maple body. I've had to change pups in it a lot to find something I like. Switched the Rio Grande Crunchnox out for a GF Crunchy Rails , digging on it right now.

It's a decent price for it, but IMHO, I'd wait to either find a better deal or save up a little more dough for something better.

I put a Rio Grande BBQ bucker in my 770, and it sounds great now! Very full sounding, great harmonics and sustain. For me it's the perfect pickup. By far my current favorite full size humbucker.
 
I think that's a very good price. I have one of those that I use as a backup, and it's very good. I changed the pickups.

I was trying to sell it some time ago, but opted to keep it because people kept offering stupid prices for it. I sold an RG550 really quick for 500 bucks, and I can't figure out why anyone would pay more for an RG550. I prefer the 570 by a long shot.

The 570CTTB also has a Pao Ferro fretboard.

:rock: I'd like to pick up a BBQ bucker, never heard one before. I like the Crunchbox, but it was just too bright in my Artcore. It's a very classic sounding pickup, at least in comparison to the GF Crunchy Rails that's in there now. My semi is a firebreather now :thumbsup: Its my favorite guitar for teh brootz right now, which sounds wrong, but I really dig it.

I love my 770, but it needs a pickup change. Problem is I want to retain the all blue look and the split coil sounds.
