a friend of mine has an 88 Ibanez rg USAC...
apparently these were Japanese models but assembled here in America and we're all custom order?
any idea on worth? It will end up listed for trade or sale... it is not mint and has some balttle scars but nothing major... And also relocated the plume knob so the is an empty hole in the pick guard...
I assumed it's a one piece basswood. 24 fret, bound neck and HS, low pro trem, and loaded with EMG from the factory... I believe it is a 770...

and no this guitar does not belong to John Melloncamp

It's not a RG770. I had one from that era and they do not have a pickguard. The RG 550's I've seen have all had maple fingerboards. Maybe a RG750?

I bet you're right.. I suck at identifying Ibanez... lol

Can't help you really. Looks like a 550 to me but I bet the guys at Jemsite could pinpoint the model for you if you don't find the answer here.

Yah Jemsite for the win, those guys know EVERYTHING about Ibanez.

Looks like a RG750 to me. The '700s' had the sharktooth inlay whereas the '500s' had dots, and as I recall the x50 was h/s/h with a pickguard, the x60 was h/s/s rear loaded and x70 was h/s/h rear loaded.

It's a RG750. I had one just like it. I was very sorry to see it go.

cool guitar, scary ink (if that's an evil clown I'm seeing).
