Can't seem to get enough of these lately...and I've HATED them for years. The big difference? the "Zero" trems...they are astounding! So easy to use, set-up, and keep in tune.

I also LOVE the mahogany-bodied S-series guitars. The sound so big, but feel so small & comfy... Recent acquisitions - S7320 7-string, S2170SE, and an S620EX. This coming after the two RGD2120Z's I picked up this summer. And I HATED Ibanez - wouldn't even pick one up. Guess I can thank Korn...the K7's (which I miss IMMENSELY) were AMAZING!

I'll have to post up some pics...let's see yours...

Congrats on all the NGDs! Ibanez does make some great stuff.

J-Custom RG8127. One of my favs of all the guitars I've played. Stupidly sold it, but managed to buy it back about a year later.

I just commented to a friend today about how I really like the Ibanez s series guitars

Whoah! Nice!

I didn't think I'd look at anything that wasn't Prestige or J-Craft, but obviously I've been missing out a bit. The label makes me nervous, but so far, pleasantly surprised...

Indeed! If you sell the right stuff...look what happens! Yes - show & tell at some point. Going cheap too... I sound shitty regardless. :aww:

Here's my two '87 540R's. These are the radius models that were just prior to the Satriani models. Awesome playing guitars.

I love reading threads like this. I've been playing them since '89 and I could never figure out why people would wince when I opened my case. Some of the most consistent, best playing guitars out of the case - for a mass produced guitar. I'm still not sure what I think of the "Zero" trem, I'm a big fan of the Original Edge. Here's a couple of my favorites, even though they're equipped with the Edge Pro trem. For me, the best Ibby is an RGT - not to mention I love the offset dot inlays.

Have there been any other RGs made with the JP control layout?

I've always wanted a neckthru, sweet guitars

i've owned a few over the years,

have a vintage musician from 1981, which i rarely get out of the case, but it was built the same time i was born, very cool guitar

my favourite ibanez to play is still the fairly cheap SZ series i bought new way back when, tried it out and just couldn't put it down

not my pics but it's this model, discontinued sz320mh, 25.1" scale length, 12" radius neck, decent weight and a great tone,

i actually have the prestige MIJ version the sz1220 , which has a slightly thinner neck and a maple top, but the cheaper guitar sounds much better to my ears, despite numerous pickup switches on the more expensive model, i think it might have something to do with the maple top , who knows

Let's throw in the rest of the family for good measure, just so you don't think I'm one-dimensional...

The LNG is no longer with me but I gig regularly with the BFP and occasionally with the RBM

I went through the same thing a few years ago. I ended up with 4 prestiges. GREAT guitars. I just ended up not liking the necks. Too thin. 1st time I was actually uncomfortable playing guitar. They sounded real nice.

Does Ibanez make a guitar with a neck that has some mass to it? Custom Shop?
