I think Inanez makes great guitars but I’ve never liked their super thin necks. I recently played an RGD and was pleasently surprised. Its thin, but not as thin as I’m used to with Ibanez. Is it just me, or are these rgd necks thicker? Are there other ibanez guitars with thicker necks? I should note that I played an AZ once and hated the neck shape (it was also way thicker than a wizard). Are there any companies like warmoth that make replacement necks for ibanez guitRs where I could order a thicker neck?

TIA

They have several different neck profiles but I do think they have gotten thicker over the years.

Like stated above, they have so many profiles a guy just has to play the particular model and see if it works. I briefly owned a FR6UCS and thought the neck was a nice profile. Was on the flat/thin side but like you noticed on the RGD, beefier than some others I've fondled.

The RGD are neck through and noticeably thicker. I have always love Ibanez necks, especially the J Custom ones. As I have gotten older though, I just have not found them as comfortable anymore.

More like the custom JP Picasso model necks. Those became the Prestige necks. I read it on the web somewhere.

I always liked the old Ibanez Sabre necks. They are still comparatively thin, but super playable.
