I knew that was coming but... I got my refin strat for 3k canadian in '98 which at the time I think was ~$2200 USD. And I got my custom shop closet classic '63 tele (which is way better looking than that ibanez and will hold value better, and yes they they used freon ) recently for ~2k . I'm not disputing Andy Timmons' chops and tone at all, but IMO that is an *ugly* strat. And at that price point there are a lot of other guitars I would be looking at other than Ibanez.

+1000000. I was hoping that Andy would hook up with Suhr after leaving Ibanez. But he definitely seems to have an attachment to that guitar, and you can't argue with the results. He seems like a reasonable dude...even he has to be shaking his head at the price I would think.

Yeah, I don't like Sunburst anyway. That said, his AT300 was better looking to me, plus you could get a Suhr or a Fender that looks similar to this.

I don't think that Ibanez headstock looks right in unfinished maple. And I agree with everyone else about the price. I'd much rather get something like an Anderson for that kind of cash.

Wow....I was really stoked when Andy mentioned in his interview this month's Guitar Player that Ibanez would be reissuing the AT-100. I've somehow always liked that guitar, pointy Strat copy or not . But 2300 bones?? No way!!

Hahahahahaha for that crap!?!?. I'd take an American Deluxe Strat FMT HSS over that POS any day of the week for half the $$$. The only gripe I have with the American Deluxe Strat FMT HSS is that they didn't hard-mount the bridge pup to the body, like they should have.

Also, AT's tone is mediocre at best, even with his wall of BS effects to hide and mask his MCdonna and Olivia Mutant-John licks. Just saying...
