I want to try or get into using w/d or w/d/w set up I don't know really where to start or how to hook up yet?, I have read a few posts on forums but i wanted to use my heads or amps I have now to get started,my main amp is randall rm 100 with digitech rp1000 (4CM) right now, I also have a Marshall bi- chours 200 watt solid state stereo head, does anyone have any ideas on how to get started or point me in the right direction, I know about using a a/b/y box and switch between the to heads or use them both at same time, I have done this using my Randall for distortion and switch to Marshall for clean cuz the Marshall does have nice stereo clean tone and build in chorus, but I just want to get some pointers on ways to try w/d/w set up or maybe a way to use my digitech rp 1000 with both heads! I also have a rack mount processor I'm not using it Alesis Quadraverb, any tips or ideas will be great, thanks!!!

Search for a thread here about Joe Holmes SDE-3000 W/D/W setup, there was a ton of great info in it.

Are you wanting something really simple or something midi controlled for a cadillac type system? If it's the first then just get a good aby pedal like a Lele and just split the guitar signal with that. Then leave one amp dry and switch your effects separately on the wet amp. If you run both heads as a crunch sound, switching to a clean channel only involves some tap dancing. To get into where one button gives you clean, both amps, each amp alone, etc... MIDI is the way to go.

I run a Herbert and Uber TJ in stereo. It was a pain in the butt to get my signal split for both heads since I run a boost. Going from a crunch sound with both heads with boost on, then to a clean tone with just the clean channel of my Herbert AND shutting the boost off, with just one push of a button was a bit of work. I use a GCX audio switcher to split my signal, control my TS9, and a TC G major2's midi controlled relay switcher to control my non midi Uber TJ. I use a Ground Control Pro for controls.

It's more like double wet in the center and even wetter on the sides or W_WW_W.
But, for WDW I would plug em in like this.

RP1000 4-cabled into the Randall.
Randall to 4x12
Randall slave out jack to Quadraverb.
Quadraverb stereo out into Marshall stereo fx returns.
Marshall into dual 2x12 or 1x12's
Tech 21 MIDI Mouse to control Quadraverb

You will then have fx before and after the preamp and after the power amp.
You can run the QV 100% wet and turn the Marshall up only as loud as it takes to blend in some delay and verb.

Hey thanks for the reply's ill try running the way you suggested and see how it sounds,I was also thinking on how I could use my Marshall as a preamp or power amp it's supposed to be stereo head and has a parallel effects loop with one send & to returns and use that with a rack effects processor? maybe rack eleven?
I really like my set up with the Randall rm 100 & digitech rp 1000 4(cm) for my distortion channel I just wanted to try something different or have a good stereo clean channel.
