I have been told that because of the economy, some deals can be had if you call the shop.
I already know of some killer deals on PRS's and Suhrs.
Just passing on the info!!

and Suhrs.

Such as?? :inlove:

The last time I was there they had standards to the $4000 + and up guitars! I had no idea how much money some of this stuff is going for!!

That Amber Suhr NAMM guitar is pretty sweet and if you put black pups on it, it would have that nice Drop Top look...hmmm....and I would have to think it doesn't suck if they picked it to be on display at NAMM, right?

They have awesome gear but are way overpriced to begin with. So make sure the deals are real deals across the board not just by their price standards.

I gave them a ring asking about their Suhr Modern LE and a VHT 2/90/2. I even mentioned I heard they have some deals going on right now. Well, the guy quoted the LE about $300 higher than anywhere else I've seen. I was like ok that sucks, but whatever. What really got me was when he told me the 2/90/2 would cost me $1895  . Well I know what the list and street is for those, but instead of being a jerk about it I asked in a nice way if he was sure the price on the VHT was right and he said that's what he had in his book, which he told me was in front of him. I then asked him if VHT had a price increase to which he said, "no, it's the same price they've had for sometime." Well I politely called him on it by telling him I've seen the list price at $1595 on numerous sites. After he checked some websites, at least that's what he told me, he said he could do $1499, but you could hear some disappointment in his voice. His excuse was he accidently quoted me the list price. Fair enough. Only problem is $1895 isn't the list price and he supposedly had his book right there. He should have at least told me he quoted a different VHT product, would have been a better cover up in my book. Maybe I'm being hard on the guy, but I got the feeling he was trying to rip me off. The whole experience reminded me of a local place in my town that would take advantage of you if you didn't know any better. They sold me a crybaby probably about 15 years ago for sticker price, I didn't know any better since I was a young'n and had never seen an AMS or MF magazine. Needless to say I don't shop there anymore.

The problem I might have is that I'm friends with them, so I get stuff at really great prices and I don't really know what they usually charge. I'm sure that you are correct and I'll have to mention something.

+1000 I was waiting for somebody else to say it first.
That place dont give snow away in the winter, and Im amazed thev've been around as long as they have, when a great LI store like Focus went under.

Gary (The owner) Used to work at Focus II. That was seriously one of teh best shops back in the day.

Like I said to Slaytallica, I get stuff at great prices because Im a friend but I had no idea that they might be overpriced.

I still say that people should call and haggle and not settled on the first price quoted.

I'll definitely mention this to them. I don't like sending people there and hearing about this and you can bet the farm I'll say something for sure ;)
